AIBOC Appoints CBOA General Secretary K. Ravi Kumar as Co-Chairman of Charter of Demands Committee

Senior banking leader to visit Bhopal on July 12-13; upcoming wage settlement for bank officers to be a key focus

Vivek Jha, Bhopal: Preparations for the next wage settlement of public sector bank officers, due from November 2027, have gained momentum with the All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) constituting a high-level committee to draft the Charter of Demands for submission to the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). In a significant development, K. Ravi Kumar, General Secretary of the Canara Bank Officers’ Association (CBOA), has been appointed as the Co-Chairman of the committee.

The appointment is being viewed as a major recognition of his leadership and experience in representing the interests of bank officers across the country.

Committee to Prepare Charter of Demands for IBA

The newly constituted committee will prepare a comprehensive Charter of Demands covering salary revision, service conditions, allowances, career progression, welfare measures and other employment-related issues concerning bank officers.

The document will serve as the foundation for negotiations between AIBOC and the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) for the wage settlement scheduled to take effect from November 2027.

Pride for CBOA and Banking Fraternity

Sharing the information, K. K. Tripathi, Vice President of the Canara Bank Officers’ Association (CBOA), said that the appointment of K. Ravi Kumar as Co-Chairman is a matter of pride not only for CBOA but for the entire banking officers’ fraternity.

He expressed confidence that under Ravi Kumar’s leadership, the concerns and aspirations of bank officers would receive stronger representation during the forthcoming wage negotiations.

Two-Day Visit to Bhopal

K. K. Tripathi informed that K. Ravi Kumar will be on a two-day visit to Bhopal on July 12 and 13. During his visit, he will participate in organizational meetings and interact with bank officers to discuss issues concerning the banking sector and the officers’ community.

The visit is also expected to include discussions on organizational strengthening, policy matters and preparations for the upcoming wage settlement.

Expectations Rise Ahead of Wage Negotiations

With the formation of the Charter of Demands Committee, expectations among bank officers have increased regarding the next wage revision. Banking circles believe that apart from salary enhancement, the committee is likely to address important issues such as career advancement, work-life balance, service conditions, allowances and employee welfare.

The banking fraternity expects that a well-structured Charter of Demands will strengthen negotiations with the IBA and help secure a more comprehensive and balanced wage settlement.
